Is controversy the best way to generate PR

This video was uploaded on Indian Idol's channel on Youtube to promote its upcoming season. It features Raghu Ram, the controversial executive producer of  MTV Roadies auditioning for Indian Idol. The judges on Indian Idol, Anu malik, Farah Khan and Sonu Nigam poke fun about Raghu's singing and performance. And people love this verbal duel. The video seems to made to use the angst in people for Raghu and his outrageous belittling of contestants auditioning for Roadies.


This marketing stunt is spreading fast on social networks and is gaining around 10k free views per day on Youtube.

So controversy involving celebritites is a great way to generate PR. Isnt it why Bollywood celebrties kiss, go naked, get hooked in or out of a relationship just before the films release since old times.
